The Emenska eco path
The Village of Emen and the Emenska Eco Trail is 5 km from Novo Selo
The village is situated in northern Bulgaria, in Veliko Tarnovo municipality, at the picturesque foot of the Balkan, 20 km westwards from the town of Veliko Tarnovo, nearby the Emenski canyon.The village is famous for its incredible nature, which attracts thousands of tourists every year. The Emenska eco path lies along the both sides of the canyon. The escarps of the canyon are sheer and 80 - 90 meters high. The interesting thing here is, that upon one of the escarps there are eagles’ nests, and at the other – remains from an ancient Rome path. The end of the eco path leads straight to most picturesque place from the whole route – the Momin Skok waterfall. The place is surrounded by high rocks and is accessible only from east. At the very beginning of the eco path is situated the Emenska peshtera (Emenska cave). It is long 3131 m. and is listed on 17th place in the list of the deepest caves in Bulgaria.

The magnificent village of Emen is centered In the Balkan region very close to the Emen canyon. The canyon starts with caves and ends with the waterfall Momin Skiff on the river Negovanka. This area is just waiting to be explored.
ECO TRAIL “VIA FERRATA” Dryanovo
Bacho Kiro is located next to Dryanovo monastery, at a distance of 30 km. of Veliko Tarnovo. In 1962 the cave was pronounced for à natural landmark, and in 1964 it was electrified. The fairytale underworld was revealed for the people’s eyes. It is the first well laid out cave in Bulgaria. The cave “Bacho Kiro” has several levels with length of 3m.
The eco trail is marked with green paint and sign-boards. It starts with stone staircase, eastwards from the parking lot in front of the monastery, in the direction of the railroad. Then it follows the railroad on the South . After 200 m. the trail reaches a tunnel and there it turns on the left under a picturesque rock chain, from there a beautiful vista at the canyon of the river Dryanovska is opened. The trail winds near the waterfall of the Blue Pool and then after 400m. it makes a turn on the North ,where a stone and a metal staircases lead to the edge of the rock chain, above the right bank of the river. From there a magnificent panoramic view of the canyons of the river Dryanovska and river Andaka is clearly visible. Typical for the region are the broad-leaved trees represented by horn beam, oak, lime tree, ash-tree, lilac and others. The glades are covered with various flowers and herbs. After 500 m. more the trail reaches a steep and high rock edge called “Momini Skali”( Lasses’ rocks)

The Bacho Kiro Cave
The Bacho Kiro cave is situated 5 kilometres west of the town Dryanovo, Bulgaria, only 300 meters away from the Dryanovo Monastery. It is embedded in the exquisite canyons of the Andaka and Dryanovo River. The first tourists entered the cave in 1938, two years before it was actually called the Bacho Kiro cave after the Bulgarian National Revival enlightener Bacho Kiro. The cave is a four-storey labyrinth of galleries and corridors with a total length of 3,600 metres, 700 metres of which are maintained for tourists' attraction
